Camp Nou Experience - Barcelona
miss the Camp Nou Experience, a must if you´re a football fan and support
Barcelona Football Club.
Nou Experience allows you to explore the grounds of one of the most well
recognised football stadiums in the world. The tour is not only a celebration of
the hardware, atmosphere, and ins-and-outs of (one of) the best football clubs
on the planet, you also get to appreciate the football spirit. FC Barcelona:
"More than just a club"
TV is enjoyable. But the stadium is where the magic really happens. The Camp
Nou Experience may not include 98,000 fans screaming "Barça, Barça,
Baaaaarça!", but it does give you incredible access to FC Barcelona, and
the feeling of what it might be like to work (or play) for the blaugrana.
their famous rallying chant, FC Barcelona is more than just a
club. They are owned by their supporters, live and work by an elevated code of
social responsibility, and are ambassadors of Catalan culture. Oh, and they're
pretty good at football.
the free-flowing tiki-taka style, Barça has won five Champions
League titles and is often hailed as the world’s best team. They also formed
the core of the Spanish side that won the World Cup in 2010. We could go on
about the all achievements and trophies, but you're better off taking part in the
Camp Nou Experience itself, appreciating the photos, goal videos and trophy
cabinet of everyone´s second favourite football team.
is immersive and impressive. Featuring giant touch screens, sound installations
(including match-day sounds), historical stats and a trophy cabinet worthy of
King Midas, it's captivating - even if you're not a big football fan.
dressing rooms are pretty cool, but the undoubted highlight is walking through
the tunnel and stepping out onto the Camp Nou pitch, where you can imagine that
you're about to play the biggest game of your career.
OF A GIANT: Johan
Cruyff, one of the finest players to ever play the game, recently passed away.
Graceful, tactically advanced, a sublimely talented innovator (his 'Cruyff
turn' is still a piece of sublime beauty more than forty years after he dropped
it in a World Cup game), and more than anything else, a pure football talent.
growing up with Ajax Amsterdam, Cruyff moved to Barcelona and Nou Camp. He was
a highly successful player and manager – even leading Barça to a La Liga title
in his first season there. His legacy lives on, not only in the trophy cabinet;
he was instrumental in starting La Masia their successful
youth program (Pep Guardiola, Cesc Fábregas and Lionel Messi were all
graduates). A visit to Camp Nou gives you the opportunity to pay your respects
to one of the most influential figures ever to lace up a pair of boots.
