Ancient Rome´s Ruins
All of Rome´s history is written in its ruins.
Don´t miss out on this fabulous journey through time and discover what Ancient Rome was truly like,
gives you access to 3 important archaeological sites: Baths of Caracalla, Tomb of
Cecillia Metella and Quintili´s
Baths of Caracalla. Can you imagine a grand emperor taking a hot
bath and enjoying the calming sensation while he rests and relaxes? Although we
usually only remember them as fierce warriors, the great Roman leaders also
cared about their health and well-being. This imperial bath is the most
glamourous of all. In addition to the spa, Emperor Caracalla had a special area
built for health, sports, studying and relaxation. This resulted in 25 hectares dedicated to looking after
the body and mind and is one of the most important ruins in Rome.
Tomb of Cecillia Metella. With a circular structure, this
tomb was constructed in Emperor Agusto´s era to pay respect to the deceased daughter
of one of the emperor´s diplomat, Cecillia Metella. Located right in the centre
of Via Appia, you have the possibility of visiting one of the city´s most
beautiful tombs. Let your imagination run free and recreate the beauty of this
Quintili´s Villa. This villa preserves a story of blood and
luxury within its foundations. The Quintilli brothers were the original owners of
this magnificent and extravagant construction, although they were quickly
assassinated by the order of Emperor Comfortable when he realised he liked the
property so much he wanted to have it for himself.
